Thanks for stopping in! First of all, I know the ladies on this site encounter a lot of nuts with, let's just say, "less than desirable intentions". I can assure you that is not me. I don’t have alterior motives and I’m not into random hookups. And an added bonus is that I'm employed, I shower regularly and I still have all my teeth! So what more could you want?!?! :) Just kidding. Anyway, allow me to introduce myself.

Anyone who knows me would tell you that I’m an educated, clean cut, down-to-earth guy who knows how to treat a woman. Yes, these qualities can all exist in the same guy. I'm living proof! Believe me? If not and you get the chance to meet me, you'll find out you're wrong.

I’m very big on communication and respect. Communication is proactively sharing your own thoughts and listening to the other person. Respect means your thoughts, interests and opinions are appreciated. I believe that two people are equals in a relationship, so I stay away from those who might be condescending or self-centered. Random acts of kindness are also a big plus! I’m kind of old fashioned in that I believe in opening doors for women. When my grandmother was still alive, I even opened doors for her. It’s a real sign of respect.

As a general rule, I like a healthy mix of getting out on the town and staying in for the evening cooking and/or watching movies. I'm not really into the bar scene, so if that's your thing then that's too bad for you. :) I can be a little spontaneous and decide to do something on the spur of the moment, like deciding to take a weekend trip on short notice. Being spontaneous makes life more exciting, right? Otherwise, I tend to like to try different activities to mix it up. This would include things like going to festivals in nearby towns, attending sporting events (Royals/Chiefs), trying new restaurants, hitting an ice skating rink or even helping out at a soup kitchen.

I should also tell you that I’m a very active guy, so I do take the time to maintain a regular regimen of running (winters) and long distance biking (summers) to stay in great shape. I also love the outdoors, and I make a point to head out to Colorado a few times a year. This past summer, I hiked 23 miles in two days and biked several mountain passes on other days during a week long vacation in Colorado. I plan to do it again next year!

Basically I’m looking for someone who is caring, honest, loves to laugh, knows how to communicate and appreciates a good guy when she meets one. Is this too much to ask? If I initiate contact and send you a note, it’s because I think we might have a lot in common. It just means I would be interested in getting to know more about you and see where things go from there.

P.S. Why do they ask if you do drugs? Has anyone actually answered "yes" to this? I'm going to guess that meth heads and crack smokers are not going to create a profile on a site like this. :)

The last thing I would pick on a first date would be the movies. There's nothing like darkness and a huge screen in front of you to prevent getting to know each other! Going out for a drink or dinner is really the only way to start it off. The most important thing is having a conducive environment for getting to know each other. I know of a few good places, but you'll have to get a first date with me to find out where! :)
