Anyone have instructions for writing this without sounding like the last guy? For starters, I think a guy should open the door for a girl when she's getting in the car, and I'm happy to go out or stay in, so long as there's good company. I like to think I can be pretty funny (because someone has to), I'm fortunate enough to think before I speak, and I think a little patience can go a long way.

I'm a U of A student and I recently took up longboarding to have some fun outdoors while the weather holds up and I'm planning to start snowboarding this year. I like a handful of sports and I play a little guitar here and there for my own entertainment, nothing too serious. I almost went skydiving this summer with some friends but schedules didn't quite work out... so, here's hoping for next year!

I can enjoy just about any kind of music that has a good ring to it (although it's not likely that country will make it in there). But for the record, I prefer... you guessed it, folk music. Well, punk and metal are a little closer to the right answer but that was a pretty solid guess. Rise Against and Avenged Sevenfold fit somewhere in my top 10.

So, are you easy to talk to, love to joke around, enjoy being active some days and content just relaxing on others? That's a good start. Are you into spray-tanned Ed Hardiots, narcissism, and expect me to put out on the first date just because I wore a slinky dress? Keep looking. Otherwise, hopefully we'll like some of the same stuff and there's always room for compromise; I like to try new things. And if you just want to chat and meet friends, that's cool too, so don't be shy.

Anything fun. The trick is to focus on the who, not the what.
