About Me
Let's begin with a Top Ten list of Cool Stuff and non-cool stuff in my world. Read on…..
Stuff I think is cool: 1. The smell of freshly laundered sheets 2. When my cats nuzzle me 3. Warped senses of humour 4. Spelling the word “humour” with the “u” 5. Being really smart and engaging in witty reparte 6. Having the perfect song start playing as I embark on a long drive and rocking out to it 7. Seeing a really old couple holding hands 8. Pretty much anything from the 80s 9. Making pun jokes 10. guys who are emotionally supportive, yet strong Stuff I do not think is cool: 1. Poor grammar 2. Gas at $4 per gallon 3. People who thrive on negativity 4. Dishonesty, failure to communicate 5. Having to grade a bazillion papers (yes, I’m an educator) 6. People who change lanes without signaling 7. illegal drugs or (legal) cigarettes 8. Needing to cook for one 9. Men who do not know how to commit 10. Individuals who self-aggrandize by putting others down
Now for the standard descriptions: I'm part sugar, part spice and definitely well-seasoned. I thrive on happiness, for life is too short to be bogged down in negativity. And what I've learned about happiness is that it can be found far more easily in the little things than in the big, fireworks-filled things. I laugh easily and love to be around those who can make me crack up 'til I hiccup.
I'm highly motivated and a hard worker. I took a big leap of faith 8 years ago to leave a lucrative position in IT consulting to return to grad school and become a college professor. One of the best moves I've made to date.
A second big leap of faith came when I left all that I knew behind on the east coast to pursue my first academic job out here. It's been a generally good experience and I'm still learning my way around...
I enjoy staying active. I have been working out 3 times per week for a few months. It's imporant to me that my partner would be as committed to staying healthy -- maybe even joining me on workouts.
I'm looking for a man who is brave enough to kill any kind of bug, yet creative enough to at least try to cook. He should have goals that he's already reached and dreams he is working toward achieving. The man for me will support me as much as I support him. He will be cool and confident, but never condescending. Hopefully you will share some of the aforementioned qualities and more, ready to accompany me on life's adventures. God speed!
