Having just deleted my original epic description, I find myself a bit lost on what to write now. Let's see here...

It seems I'm in the midst of my own "Saturn Return," whatever that means. On the cusp of turning 29, with some well formed intentions on what ought to come next in life. I won't pretend. I milked my twenties for all they were worth. Early on, went a bit overboard. A few runs of excess later, I can safely say that I've outgrown these vices from my life. Both eyes are on the prize. Another year or two of graduate school and I'll be good to go. Teaching teenagers brings me a profound sense of purpose and joy. Sure, there are a few other skills that I would love to make a career out of, but after all is said and done; if I make a living in a classroom for the rest of my days, my existence will not have been in vain.

I won't even bother establishing a sense of structure to this profile bio.

Product of Los Angeles through and through. As much as I adore meeting cats that grew up here, I'm more than happy to welcome wanderers from afar. Folks, let's mix it up until there are no pedigrees.

My relationship with pop-culture has been a roller-coaster ride. A part of me feels that I've spent too much time absorbing useless information. Another fabric of my soul feels immensely enriched by the art that I've been exposed to. No use denying that my passions have been shaped and conditioned by literature, music, and film.

With that said, my love of music might border on the obsessive. Just as music fuels these words manifesting at this very second, a song can and often will provide the catalyst to action in my everyday life. Rather than obsess on top 10 lists, I'd much rather compile a personalized anthology tailored to a particular person in my life. It doesn't have to be my significant other. I absolutely adore it when the opportunity arises. Whether with friends, family, students, or even strangers. Life demands a worthy soundtrack to accompany it. Most people these days get too caught up in the rat race to pay mind to such trivial factors, perhaps this fact contributes to my profound commitment to let the music play.

I'm a student of life, not to mention, a citizen of the world. No, I won't even pretend to know everything, much less, even a percentage in double digits. But I do fancy myself as wise beyond my years. I've spent many nights pondering where I've come from, my station in life, as well as imagining how to follow my bliss. If there is one thing I've learned participating in humanity, its that the very concept of pride divides us. What happened to the universal 'Us'. When did 'We' go off course?

As a teacher, I simply share my love and respect for the world around me. Mainly, shining a light on the artistic contributions of those that came before us. How we inform and inspire one another to reach for greater heights of personal expression.

As wonderful a cluster of friends I've accumulated over the past 15 years of my life, I am curious to see who else is out there. Just as the perfect song remains unheard, potential soul mates are out there somewhere.

I tell no lies. A potential shortcoming of mine may in fact stem from my ability to be completely honest. Life is too short to sugarcoat. Facades become a chore that one must maintain once they get started. This is a game I just won't play. Folks... With me, what you see is what you ultimately get.
