About Me
A few months ago I got out of the Navy. Now I'm back in school to finish my bachelor's degree in engineering. I'm good at building things, fixing things, and solving problems. I know I'm a good engineer, and it gives me some measure of satisfaction, but what I really love is music.
I'm a thoughtful, dependable, loyal person. I appreciate it a lot when a woman can be direct. The truth goes a long way in my book, even when it's something I'd rather not hear.
I try to stay fit and healthy, but I'm not a total nutcase about it; along with that, I've learned to cook over the years and actually somewhat enjoy it. My biggest hobbies are music and outdoor activities, but both are most fun when shared with friends. I also just like trying new things, whether or not I turn out to enjoy the experience in the end.
Snowboarding is about my favorite thing in the world - in the winter I'll probably spend several weekends up in the foothills for snow sports. I like hiking for the sake of exploring and great scenery, so sometimes I do pretty strenuous trips. I also really enjoy boating, diving, swimming, trail running...
As for music, I play guitar and sing. I usually learn classic rock, 90s alternative, folk, and blues, but I've got a little way to go on the guitar. I listen to most kinds of music (except rap) and I love concerts if I'm with people I know. Really, music is one of my major passions in life. I've got a great singing voice, and I'll eventually perform, but just for the joy of performing - not to try to scrape together a living.
Humor? I'm very spontaneous. I'm not the guy that's going to tell you jokes all night or act silly to make you laugh, but most of the girls that really spent time to get to know me ended up laughing plenty. Not sure I'm expressing this too well, but there you go.
My hope is that I can find someone who I really connect with, who is sincere, and who I have at least some common interests with. Someone who is independent enough to admit when she doesn't want to wait on the beach while I'm diving, and would rather be with her friends. Someone secure, who wouldn't be offended if I can't take interest in every one of her hobbies. I love it if the woman I'm with can enjoy a multi-day backpacking trip, though, and appreciates old music. Snow and water sports are a definite plus, but I think I could manage without. I hope all this describes you! Send me a message :)
First Date
I like to go someplace quiet, informal and relaxing for an enjoyable meal and a good conversation.
I would really rather do something fun, like go hiking and find a good place to eat lunch - but some women are a bit intimidated by this idea. It depends what you're comfortable with.
