Hmmmm?

How can I be as straight up about this as possible and not sound boring or like a jerk? I guess first and foremost I'm a single dad. I need to say this right off the bat in the hopes of not wasting our time if that's a potential problem. There's not much I can do about it and I wouldn't change it if I could. And yes they live with me half of the time.

Aside from being a dad I am also a Grip, I don't say this to try to impress you, the girl I'm looking for probably won't be anyway, but if you know anything about the business you know the hours are terrible(12-16hrs.a day). The point is, between those two things the one thing I don't have is a lot of free time to waste. I'm sure that you don't either.

As far as what I like to do goes. I'm usually doing something kid oriented at least two weekends a month. Usually the zoo or park, maybe a movie or Dodger/Kings game, museums, the science center or something similar. And then there's the real life all too fun stuff like going to Costco and the grocery store, oh and let's not forget about helping with homework, I think you get the idea. On the weekends that I have to myself I'm usually just trying to relax or squeeze in a round of golf. That's not to say that I can't push myself a little harder if I have a date but I do need to recharge for the work week sometimes.

I don't have too many hobbies although I did start painting last year (acrylic) but I wouldn't say that I'm very good. I do it mostly to get out of my head for awhile. I've also been playing guitar since I was 7 so maybe that counts as well. Pretty boring huh.

As far as music goes if the guitar player is running through a Marshall I probably like it. I'm more into guitar players than say bands in general or a particular genre. I do have a passion for electric blues though, not because I'm depressed or kicking the can but because if it comes off right it actually gives me chills. Serious.

I think something simple is better the first time out. Let's be honest and say it usually feels more like an interview than a date. Preferably somewhere that we can talk, it never hurts to have something other to do than talk though. Maybe a couple of drinks and a few racks of pool or darts or something similar to break up the silence if there is any. I'm pretty confident that we can come up with something that's suitable.
