I like to take walks, or leisurely bike rides, work in the garden, read National Geographic or gardening magazines, and occasionally books on nature/the environment (I especially like all things written by Michael Pollan). My taste in music would generally be classified as "alternative," but I really like a variety. Some of my favorite bands are Muse, Smashing Pumpkins, Aimee Mann, The Killers, Poe, Franz Ferdinand, The Bravery, Depeche Mode, Clutch, Aqualung, Weezer, Better Than Ezra. My aspiration is to have a career in horticulture, whether it be working at a plant nursery helping others select plants for their gardens, or working at a botanical garden, and to encourage people to garden organically. What makes me unique? In part, all of the above. I am also a fairly strong Christian (faith is an integral part of my life). And I have an abiding love of apples, and am interested in beekeeping and pirates ("Murdered by pirates is good").

A great first date would be very casual, an opportunity to get to know one another without pressure or over-inflated expectations. I'd probably order a pizza, or something equally simple, go to a local park, eat, chat, and stroll, enjoying the scenery and the conversation.
