I don't have a lot of practice summing my self up in little boxes. Not well at least. Well here we go. I am quite tall. Just short of showing off. I'm told I have a nice smile and warm eyes when I am talking to someone I care about. I love to talk with engaging people. I tend to ask a lot of questions of people I find interesting. I do try to stop short of an interrogation. (Sometimes I don't. Feel free to ask for a time out.) Just enjoy learning about new people.
Mostly, I want to break up the winter grind. I really do prefer warm weather. I like the outdoors, but I need someone to enjoy it with. One of my favorite things is blowing off plans and instead staying the night in with someone special. I am a bit of a homebody, but any outing is more fun with the right person. I don't drink, but don't mind if others do. As long as you don't mind having a regular designated driver.
I am not creative in the fine arts sense, but I find other ways to express myself. I am a pretty good cook and enjoy making meals for friends and family. I like working with my hands and attempting to repair things.
I enjoy reading, espousing crack-pot philosophies, boring or fascinating people with trivia (depends on their mood) and sometimes playing Devil's Advocate. I like to try to figure out the universe from my little point of view, but sometimes I will take things on faith. I'm willing to listen to reason, if I'm forced. However, increased volume does not a sound argument make. More fun that way though.
I would describe myself as a cynical optimist, or possibly an optimistic cynic. I so very badly want to believe the best is possible and tend to give people the benefit of the doubt. Once or twice anyways.
I guess what I really want is someone to get excited about. Take from that what you will.

Coffee is the standard safe internet first date, so that tends to be the mainstay. Unless we are talking about real actual dates. In that case, I love movies and eating, so dinner and a movie isn't quite as corny to me. That being said, a bar or nightclub has a lot of appeal. Loud music covers for me if I get tongue-tied or just run out of things to say. ;) If we have a shared interest that lines up with an event in town like the auto show or a concert, that is a great too. Depends on the two of us, what's available and how creative I/we am/are. I've also gone shopping or just for a quick bite. Nice low pressure dates. Plus I got some pants. Win/Win. Or if the weather is cooperating, maybe a walk, hike or bike ride. I can have fun almost anywhere if the person with me is fun. I try to take the party of the second part's preferences into account and see if there is anything they are dying to do. Other than that, no rules, just go with the flow.
