Well, here we are. Back, again, hoping for a different result. Not really expecting one, but hoping just the same. Because that's what human beings do. We hope. We put ourselves out there, risking heartbreak, because to not take that means that you'll never know if it was out there or not. Whatever "it" is, anyway.

My name is Rich. My stats and pic are above, so you know what you're possibly getting into. I'm looking for a long term relationship (whether that leads to marriage or not is up for discussion), with a woman that I find attractive, both physically and mentally.

What do I find attractive, you ask? Well, physically, I'm drawn to average sized to smaller women. Shorter than me (not hard to do since I'm tall), longish hair, fair to tan complexion. Tattoos don't bother me, since I'm heavily tattooed myself. Piercings either, for the same reason. For some reason, I find a "mommy pooch" incredibly sexy.

BBW's aren't my cup of tea. Yes, I know that makes me a shallow prick. But I also know what trips my trigger and what doesn't. As I've gotten older, I've learned to appreciate a certain amount of softness and curves to a woman. But if you're a self-described BBW, chances are we are not a match.

Mentally, I'm attracted to a good (if quirky) sense of humor, a well-defined sense of self, intelligence, open-mindedness, and honesty. I'd like to occasionally be able to have a conversation that does not revolve around American Idol, what's on sale at Kohl's, or your co-workers romantic drama.

About me, well, I'm just me. Been around the block a few times, seen it all, done most of it. I'm ex-military and prior law enforcement. I'm honest to a fault. I'm loyal, a hard worker, good in the sack, and a good dad/step-dad. I love kids, animals, and old people. And for some reason, they all seem to take to me very quickly as well.

I'm not terribly good looking, and I take horrible pictures. I'm average looking at best. I'm a big guy. I plugged in "athletic" because it's the closest descriptor that's even remotely accurate. I'm not average sized, nor has any part of me ever been considered as such. That being said, I'm dealing with several work related injuries that I suffered earlier this year, and have gained some weight as a result of. I'm not fat, but I'm not in nearly the shape I was this time last year. So, if you like big "teddy bearish" type guys, we'll get along famously.

I'm a geek. I'm also a nerd. I play WoW, and run a guild, so my geek credentials are in order. I enjoy math and science, so my nerd credentials are as well. I'm just a geek that kind of looks like a Hell's Angel. I'm opinionated, and have no problem sharing them when asked. I'm a bit of a control freak, and definitely an alpha male. If you have any sort of issue with a man actually acting like a man should, we're probably not going to get along too well.

I'm just an average, mid-to late 30's guy, hoping to find an average woman to have a nice, healthy relationship with.

Maybe that's too much to ask. Who knows? That's where the hope comes in.

Something that bugs me. The overuse of the Marilyn Monroe quote. You know, the "I'm impatient, selfish, etc" one. Stop. Seriously. You're not telling us anything we don't know already. More and more women are using this quote, and I just don't get it. I know I'm going to get a ton of hate mail for saying this, and that's okay. It needs to be said. Seeing that quote in a profile automatically makes me pass it by, regardless of how much I like it otherwise. I know, you're thinking "Big deal, you're not my type anyway, so I don't care if you don't message me because of that quote." That's a fair point. But what about that guy who's profile you've checked out a half dozen times, who you know has checked you out? Maybe he feels the same way about that quote that I do. Maybe that quote is the only thing stopping him form messaging you, and the only reason you two aren't in a torrid, passionate love affair at this very minute. Think about that.
