I just moved to Chicago about 4 months ago in search of a more "fulfilling" life. So far, so good. In my spare time I thoroughly enjoy going on random adventures with my camera, talking to strangers, cooking, playing my guitar, writing, singing, day dreaming. I am likely to do all of these things in one day. At this stage in my life, the idea of sitting still too much is not so appealing. I am excited by knowing that there is an entire world out there for me to explore and experience, as well as impact.
Social action through volunteering is also very important to me. I look forward to volunteering here in the city soon as this was a huge part of my life for two years before I moved here and I miss it.
Music is a huge part of my life; I often catch live local bands, and most of my friends are musicians. I enjoy most forms of good music. Lately, I've been really into acid jazz.
That said, my ideal partner is someone who enjoys, appreciates, and is involved in these things as well. You must be quick-witted, intelligent, creative, and fun-loving, playful, with a bit of wander-lust as I have. Knowledge of and appreciation of good music (not commercialized top 40 crap). It is also very important that you are an optimistic,compassionate and authentic person. This means that you care deeply about the kind of person you are, your interactions with others, and how this defines your character and ultimately affects the world.
Also, an appreciation of good food (beer and wine) is rather important as well.... I'm a pretty serious weekend chef. ;)
