hello.

i am a native pennsylvania who took a windy road that currently has me in morrisville, nc, the heart of the triangle. let me take you on my journey, faster than it took me.

i went to a year of college in upstate new york after graduating high school.

i did not much care for college. i heard all through school about a 'real world' and i was itching to discover it.

so i dropped out and moved with a friend to pasadena, california
looking for the american dream
or gold
or something like that

i found neither
but i did find a good job in a grocery store
and after a year living in too-expensive-for-a-19-year-old
i caught a greyhound with what i could carry to portland, oregon
where i was able to transfer with the same grocery store

i eventually got promoted and made some money
so i got credit cards and dug myself into debt
after three years of rain and trees and mountains
i was ready for something else

so i transferred to albuquerque, new mexico
home of adobe-style houses
green (or red) chiles
monsoons
arroyos
lightning storms
and a pleasant climate

after a year
i got a big chunk of money
to move to new york city
where i worked (still bagging groceries)
in manhattan
while living in queens

romantic, looking back
but new york was not my style
smells like trash
millions of people
all going somewhere else
no one says hi

so six months passed
and i decided to quit
which i did

i moved to fayetteville (nc) to live with my brother and his family
which was nice
but fayetteville is no place for anyone
that doesn't have to be there
so i tried wilmington
where i lived with a variety of crazy people

drowned in drama
the summer was over
so i said enough of this
let's try raleigh

i moved in with my uncle
who is a nice guy and is often out of town
i got my job back at the grocery store

that was in january

here i still am

in new york, i took up painting
abstract
random acts of color
in fayetteville, i took up recording music
little ditties
mostly 40-second songs
musical ideas, more than songs

i also have a knack for writing
if you call what i'm doing here 'writing'

in high school i took french
in new york
where people talk ugly
(i also think boston and chicago are ugly talkers)
i was walking one day
and heard a group of french girls walking past
and it planted a seed
i want to be in a place where they talk like that
namely, france

so i'm shooting for june
but we'll see

so that's me
or me-ish

i'm also on the verge of becoming very famous
super famous
i make music
most of it is short little ideas
and turn them into ringtones

i also paint
but my paintings won't be of value
until, well, later...
but i give my paintings away
so hopefully when i'm gone and famous
my art will keep those that were close to me safe...
financially or otherwise

maybe i should be a famous wordsmith too
that would be cool

who should you be?
i don't know
hopefully you explode my sense of who you could be
hopefully you're your own version of cute
with your own style
with your own set of wild experiences that have formed you into who you are
hopefully your family matters
i think i'd rather you not have your own children
though i don't know
i'm an uncle of four
and i love kids
but that's something that might not work
with my propensity to want to up-and-go somewhere
but who knows?

maybe there's something else
a strong individual
a nice smile
active but not addicted to your own appearance
hopefully you like to laugh

maybe you want to see the world
see what's out there
i don't know...
