A MUCH NEEDED UPDATE: I WILL ONLY RESPOND to serious minded individuals.You should be able to make a decision as to whether you want to meet someone after emailing a few times and then having a real live phone conversation. This means that once you show an interest, be respectful and follow through. If you don't follow this very simple method, it only shows me that you're not serious about meeting someone and I will quickly lose interest.I am on here to hopefully meet someone, not to act like a child, or to inflate my ego by seeing how many people I can get to respond to me, which seems to be a common theme on this site.

(What I'm Looking For In a Woman)

NOTE: I thought it to be a good idea to clarify how I am going about finding a woman that is a good match for me. I'm 46 years old now and have certainly learned from my experiences. Experience has taught me that there are those that meet and rush into dating and relationships as soon as there is a physical attraction, and somewhere along the way, seem to forget about the friendship part of the equation because they are so "caught-up" in the initial physical attraction, the euphoria, and the romance that we all seem to want so much, and are willing to do anything to receive.

Then we rush into things and realize after investing much time and emotion, that the person that you were once so attracted to is not who you thought they were. This approach has never worked for me, and from what I can see, it doesn't work for many others, yet they refuse to acknowledge it and continue down the same path hoping for a different outcome.

I'm sure many of us go into situations with he best of intentions , but then get caught up in the physical, emotional, euphoric romantic fantasy over and over again.
My best relationships have been with those that I have been around for a period of time and have developed a comfort level with whether it be business, social events, gatherings with friends etc. I have in the past, grown to really care about a woman that I really didn't have that over-whelming initial attraction towards initially, but became more attracted to her simply because I got to know her for who she really was, and loved her for those reasons. Although physical attraction is very important to me, I know from experience that it won't sustain a relationship.

I don't rush into dating after one meeting and I don't place a time limit on what is right and true in my heart. I care about and respect my feelings and I certainly respect yours enough to not mislead you or waste your time or toy with your emotions in any way. So with that said, and if you can relate, I hope you will respect me for being honest and decide to get to know me as a friend and let things progress in a natural manner. This means that if we meet, that we focus on getting to know each other for the right reasons, and we let things flow. This means doing things just as friends would, having nice conversations, doing things together, being real, and letting the true you shine through. If you take this approach and things do progress, you will get all that you have ever imagined, and more! Then I will know that we are together for the right reasons, because we truly care about one another for who we are, that we respect each other, and will look out for each other. Then you better be prepared to receive all that I have to offer! :) Loyalty, respect, romance, attentiveness, affection, and most of all...my heart! :) So there you have it. Hey, sometimes you've just got to be real! :)

First Date

Of course there has to be a mutual physical attraction at some level, and hopefully some nice chemistry to start things off. Then I think you have to have a first meeting before a first date. For a first meeting I much prefer a casual meeting place such as a quiet restaurant or other casual place where we can have nice conversation, some laughs, and really enjoy getting to know one another. I do not rush into something as important as a relationship, so I prefer to get to know someone over time as we build friendship, trust, and take the time to get to know each other on a more personal level. I think if we were meant to be together, things will progress in a natural unforced manner without any undue pressure. I value people and friendships, so even if there isn't a connection I wouldn't mind staying friends, but only if you're a great person and of great character of course. :)
