I've found LA to be quite daunting when it comes to dating....my theory is that if you're not a gorgeous model or a gay man, you're kind of up sh*tcreek.
I'm more like a 'girl next door' type....so if that doesn't appeal, don't even waste your time! I love to have fun (but fun is relative...fun for me is salt water fishing, reading a good book on the beach, or eating a delicious meal.) I do like to go out dancing, but I'm pretty wretched at it. :)

I work as an F&B manager at a hotel, and I work A LOT! I volunteer one day a week at a hospital....so that leaves me one full, true free-day.

Ideally, I'd love to meet someone with whom I can spend some quality time...someone that I feel a connection with....a spark. I miss the spark. I need someone who's as strong (and I'm not talking physically!) as I am...someone who can match wits with me, and teach me new things (not in a snotty, "I know more than you" type of way.) I'm really drawn to 'manly' men...think Mike Rowe or Gerard Butler. I love guys who are capable, witty, strong (but gentle!!)and have a reliable moral compass ---I feel like I'm asking for too much here.

I feel like some guys are just sending out feelers to a lot of different girls, so if I don't feel like we'd be compatible I'm tending to just not respond. I don't want to come across as a douchebag, though, so if you think it's totally douchey that I just never respond, let me know and I'll send an "I don't think you're right for me email" if you'd prefer that to silence.

As for a first date: NOT COFFEE!!! Coffee makes me edgy (ish) and I don't like that added to the awkwardness of a first-meeting.
