I'm a complex man with one simple desire: I wish to find my soul mate and give her all my love and dedication. That's it. No complicated guesswork or analysis needed. I live to love and be loved. Period. My work, interests, hobbies, passions, opinions....they all are an integral part of me and always will be, but the essence of life is sharing and companionship and a true hopeless romantic is one that looks to find a kindred spirit to share and relish in every one of those personal facets.

However, since we are on the subject of hobbies, dreams, goals, etc...we should start there. I have a love for cinema and the arts. A night at the Hollywood Bowl listening to a Tchaikovsky concert with a picnic basket loaded with goodies is a perfect night. I have a fondness for cooking, as I feel very natural in the kitchen...although I must admit I haven't done much of it lately because I'm single. I'm a nature-lover with a heart for the outdoors. Put a fly-rod in my hand and take me to the Sierra Nevadas and witness my bliss! Oh, and if along the way, we stop and try a little wine-tasting at a quaint vineyard off the beaten path, so much the better! We can enjoy a nonpareil bottle of Chardonnay underneath a velvety canvas of stars later that night, while we lay in each others arms and wash the weariness of a long but enjoyable day away...

I'm a humble man, soft-spoken, yet firm and resolute when necessary. I'm kind-hearted and fiercely loyal to the one who has given her heart to me and I expect nothing less in return. Our world is filled with temptation on many levels, but when my heart is occupied by one person, she alone commands my eye and attention.

My mind is a never-ending carousel of fantastical and grand ideas and I love nothing more than sharing my adventurous side with my lover. I'm a fair person and a great communicator; always willing to listen first, speak second.

My ideal match is someone who is as devoted to the ideal of romance as I. Someone who can look into my eyes and say the perfect thing without me ever having to utter a word. Someone who deals with life's difficulties with the same fervor and zeal as I do; not as a chore but an opportunity to improve yourself.

One last thing....I spent New Years Eve 2009 as a single man. Next year, I want that to change. I hope I find someone that feels the same...

First dates can be tricky. I've learned that planning for such an event really depends upon how well I've gotten to know the person I'm dating and how spontaneous she is. For example, some women love to be amongst a big crowd and feel more at ease during first dates. Others prefer a more intimate, private affair where little else serves as a source of distraction.

However, all things being equal, my perfect first date would be to meet at a Park and Ride location somewhere here in Southern California. My date and I would board one of the many buses that shuttle to the Hollywood Bowl with picnic basket full of wine, home-made sandwiches and crudites for an evening of dining and music...think Diana Krall or Boney James. If I REALLY like the girl, then I would offer a gentle but firm massage of her shoulders as she lets the invigorating wash of wine and slow jazz cleanse away her stress and permeate her soul.
