I have been told that I am a kind-hearted, mild-mannered, dependable and intelligent person with a very good sense of humor. I consider myself to be an honest and open person and I value character and integrity above all else. My great passion is playing Bluegrass music which I sometimes do professionally but mostly do for fun. I have an MA in Folklore and I am the VP of Software Development for a successful internet-based business (go figure). I am youthful in spirit - it’s hard for me to believe sometimes that I am 61 (where did the time go). I enjoy many other things in addition to playing music. I constantly try to learn through documentaries (movie / TV), reading (when I am so motivated), travel (when I get the chance) and especially through conversations with others. Even if you don't agree with another's viewpoint, they often give you something to think about and add to your understanding of yourself and the world. I think that personal and intellectual growth is a lifelong pursuit, infinite in its possibilities.

An ideal first date is one in which we get to know each other better and both want to continue to do so.
