| | How do I put myself into words?
Talk about hobbies, they say. That seems simple enough, since I have some. Reading. Movies. Exercise.
Talk about music, they suggest. Okay. I can do that. I like old school arena rock. New punk. Lots of different alternative bands. Country. But not rap. I can't even pretend to like rap. Even the funny rap isn't that funny.
Talk about goals and aspirations... hmm... well I don't ever want to be hit by a bus. That's a sort of goal. I do want to retire while I'm healthy enough to enjoy the freedom. Another goal. I'd really like to find a new favourite place since my old favourite place got taken over by bikers (true story). That's a goal, right?
It's all really just wiors, though, right? I think it's a truer depiction of who I am to say this: I hope to string one good day after another until I've created a lifetime of smiles and laughter. And if there's someone beside me at the end who was there to help shape those days one at a time but never needed the faux-security of "plans" to know I was in it for the one-day-at-a-time long haul... well that'd be pretty cool. |
