I'm not really too sure that this online dating stuff is any easier than meeting women in public, but for someone like me, that doesn't get out much, or doesn't like going places alone, it's about the only other choice. I wish it was as easy as picking out a profile and saying "I'll take that one"...lol...but we all know that it doesn't work that way. I feel that I'm here to at least try to meet new people, so of course I'm going to be in favor of setting up a face to face meeting. From a profile, you may decide that you like the persons looks, or what they say about themselves, but nothing is better than having a face to face conversation. Nobody just jumps right into any kind of relationship, so I'm looking to establish a friendship that might have a possibility of turning into something more serious as time goes on. If you have an interest in what you see, lets get together as friends and talk about it, and just find out if it leads to anything.

I don't like to pressure people on the first date. I treat it as an opportunity to meet someone new, try to have a good conversation, and a good time, and find out if there is a common interest in each other. I don't really look at it as a first date, but rather a meeting to see if we would like to date each other. A first meeting depends on the interest of both parties, but it can be a cup of coffee, a lunch or dinner, or maybe just a walk in the park on a nice summer day. The important thing is to just try to have a nice conversation, maybe get the basics on each other, and find out if there is enough connection or interest to want to meet up again in the future.
