I'd like to meet someone like-minded who can always see the fun and challenge in life. But I also want to be pushed out of my comfort zone and enjoy being challenged mentally and physically. Keen to find someone happy to join in with hair-brained schemes (and suggest some of their own) but also willing to relax and chill out when batteries need recharging. Overall I think enthusiasm and a zest for life are really key things for me...

I have a slightly geeky side, which has served me well in my job. Having spent a number of years doing various kinds of research, I now help to translate research ideas for other academics into more meaningful funding applications.
Interests: Sport of most varieties but doing not watching. These include rowing, rugby (though I have stopped playing now – the bruises were too substantial), running, cycling, swimming (tempted to start triathlons when I look at the list), horse riding is the new activity (so far managed not to fall off), and the next one on the list will be…(open to suggestions). Travelling (but I don't get to do anywhere near as much as I'd like), reading (all manner of things), socialising with friends (over a meal, a pint, a glass of wine, a coffee or dancing to cheesy music in clubs).
Two phrases mean a great deal to me. 'carpe diem' and “do unto others what you would have them do to you”.

Walk in the countryside and a quiet chat in a pub over a pint and lunch.
