So to the basics up front- everyone likes to laugh. I find humor in almost everything- from the Stooges to the Cohen Brothers movies. I have a special fondness for irony. It is a great tool for dealing with the curves life sends you. I can teach people how to be funny, but am not a big joke teller or entertainer unless it’s on stage with a script.
I’m in great physical shape and health and look for someone similar. I exercise because I have too, not because I get any great rush from it, and love outdoor activities. I prefer to get my exercise doing fun or productive things. But I am also a homebody who is happy fixing or improving things. Staying home is never a hardship for me although I gave up on tv long ago. I do have one for movies and the occasional football game. I love games and can be very competitive although I have learned that winning and losing can both be fun.
I am a saver, not a spender. I read mixing the two types described as a recipe for disaster in long term relationships and it made a lot of sense. It is essential to me that a safety net exists and that there are long term goals which take precedence over short term wants.
I have found I love kids-big and small. That came late in life for me. I’ve always loved animals but don’t believe penning them up or ignoring them is any great life.
I am highly educated and I seek the same for obvious reasons.
My work gives a lot of schedule flexibility but also requires evening and weekends at times. But a mid-week getaway or running off for the day are always possible- (and you get those weekday rates!).
I am rather quiet, more introverted than extroverted, dislike fighting and arguments, am very slow to anger, and prefer discussion and compromise to insisting on my way. I want an equal partner, I don’t want to run your life-just share it. And I really want to do this only one more time. I appreciate women who know what they want and are willing to articulate it. If we hit it off I will do everything I can to make you happy- but it helps to know what that would be.
My photos are recent and I look and act younger than I am (doesn’t everyone?). I like emailing and face to face. Phone conversations without any common references are awkward
