Hello,
I've never done this before and I am trying to use this site as a way to meet new people. I have actually never even dated before. I've been in one long-term relationship after another since I was 14. It is time for a change in my life, and I want to meet like-minded people, or even just open-minded people, for conversation, friendship or more.
I just turned thirty, and I'm feeling a little old. I am young at heart, but sometimes I can be a little immature. I find pleasure in some childlike things.
I work for a big company that makes just about everything. I, however, work in the healthcare division where I keep the paperwork for diagnostic clinical studies. I like the field, but it can be quite boring. Especially since it is a 9-5, M-F gig, when I'm naturally a night owl.
I just moved to a new apartment recently, and this is also my first time living alone. It's liberating. When I am home I tend to watch movies, listen to music, hang out with friends...the usual. But sometimes I paint, or make crafts, or jewelry.
I like all kinds of movies. My favorite is the Royal Tennenbaums. I like to read too, but often find distractions. My favorite authors are Vonnegut and Palahniuk.
I listen to everything from hard core to hip-hop, but most of what I like is indie rock and punk. The only music I don't really like is R&B. I don't prefer country, but if it's really gritty/bluesy or rockin, I can take that too.
I am very lucky to have A Lot of good friends I've known half my life! But I find myself feeling lonely and would like personal companionship.
I am really low maintenance - not one to get my nails/hair done all the time. I'm not very girly, so I'll never make you watch chick flicks, or corny tv. I'm a "one of the guys" kind of girl.

On a first date, I would simply like to learn what I can about the person I meet. It doesn't matter where: a restaurant, a bar, a sporting event, etc. I really don't know how else it works since I don't have much experience with it. My past relationships started out as friendships and went on from there. I am very open, and just recently learned there are some things you should hold back on, but mostly I am an open book. I am not easily offended, or embarrassed, so you can ask me anything and get an honest answer.
