About Me
I'm an anti-hero fighting aging through science and technology.
When I'm not doing that, I do the usual SF bay stuff, so if you want a mad scientist-type partner for dining, movies, concerts, getaways, outdoor activities, and are interested in making interesting new friends whether or not we turn out to be love material for each other, I might be your guy. I'm easy-going but energetic and health-centered.
I have an artsy side, and a musical side, and a dark side, and a light side - fours sides, so I'm a square. Yup, sounds right.
I've lived in Swaziland, India, England, and Canada and enjoy travel. I haven't been to South America or Asia and would be interested in going.
I find aging, and ways to fight aging, fascinating enough to go back to school - I'm probably one of the oldest grad students at Stanford, but thanks to anti-aging stuff it doesn't matter much and will matter even less as research progresses.
I’m good at creating new things in science, engineering, software, music, and art.
I have big hair as you can see in one of my photos. All my photos were taken in 2009. I was born in '69 and I still have '60s hair.
I like music and live shows. I used to be in a band but now just play on my own. I like old stuff like The Who, Led Zeppelin, Leonard Cohen, Bob Dylan, The Cure, and new stuff like MGMT.
I'm a vegetarian who eats fish and a bit of chicken - there's probably a name for that, but I'm not hip enough to know it and I don't care enough to google it.
My favorite movies include Immortel, The Deer Hunter, Valley Girl (when I was young), Unforgiven, The Shankshaw Redemption, The Lord of the Rings, The [first] Matrix, Vertigo, Apocalypse Now, American Beauty, Lawrence of Arabia, Alien, The Fifth Element, Saving Private Ryan, Amadeus, Braveheart, Picnic, Blade Runner, Stand By Me, and The Princess Bride.
I'm pretty much a non-TV watcher, but I do stream The Office, MadMen, and some other shows. I'm not into watching sports.
The six things I could never do without - Feeling cared for by someone I love (that's where you come in) - Caring for someone I love (again, hopefully you) - A fulfilling goal (aging research) - Healthy food - The outdoors - I love the outdoors whether it be for trail running, windsurfing, snowboarding, or other activities. - My running shoes or a beach and bare feet
I think a lot about how to keep people young and where in the world you are, my dear partner.
I'm willing to admit everything I know about myself, for example I have big scars on my stomach from operations to cure an autoimmune disease, my libido's damaged but still around - for medical reasons I have trouble having the big O, I carried a bag of poop around on my abdomen for four years, and when I was a kid I stole money. Unrestricted communication is key to successful relationships.
You should message me if - you are mentally and physically energetic - you like the outdoors - you don't believe that a dork in the sky created everything - you are sweet, warm, and kind - you kick ass at something you are passionate about
