About Me
So I have been on here before and the people that I've met have been great and I've made some really wonderful friends. That being said, there's something else that I'm looking for; a person who is like a song in the back of your head that you just can't forget, a person who you think of in those moments where you can't wait to tell someone about something that's just happened, a person who is with you no matter the distance between you physically, someone who makes you smile just to think of them.
In terms of who I am as a person -- I believe that life is like standing in an ocean. The waves are going to continually come crashing in and the simple decision that you face is whether or not you are going to stand there and have the waves push you around, or whether you are able to just dive in and BE the wave. I dive in. I always have.
I've been married and I have two of the most amazing children as a result of that experience. Regardless of how things went, I would never change that or have regrets. Each of us has a journey in this life and just like walking along the shore, regardless of whether the tides wash away your footprints, those steps have been taken and brought us to where we are today. I like who I am today and I'm excited, because tomorrow will be even better.
I enjoy working out. I'm pretty laid back. I hold the door for strangers. I laugh at things that are completely inappropriate. I care about things that have meaning, even if only to me. I agree with Jack Nicholson when he says "Do unto others -- do we really need to get more complicated than that?"
I'm curious and analytical. I draw when the spirit moves me (like during the four years of art school). I am a formidable chatter and fearless when armed with a recipe and a shopping list. I cook all the time and not so darn badly, if I do say so myself. I have an new age approach coupled with old school principles. All my teeth are my own. Same goes for my hair. I bathe regularly and have a great relationship with my deodorant.
I know a great many people try to define all the traits, physical dexterities, shoe size, gymnastic prowess and hobbies of people that they are looking for on this site. To me, that's not important, because when you buy out of a catalogue, expectation is usually the surest route to disappointment. I'm looking for a person who is themselves, comfortable in their own skin, different, the same, with a world that they hold dear, with a world they'd like to share, with talents, with individuality and ultimately with connection, because what I'm looking for is that song that you can never quite get out of your head, with a chorus that ends with your name, whomever you are.
Good luck in your search and have fun...
First Date
I have no idea. I think we should just kind of improv the whole ordeal. I'm not jumping out of any planes and I think movies kinda, sorta kill the whole idea of getting to know someone, but other than that I'm fair game and open to suggestions.
A Cautionary Tale.... A man asked a waiter to take a bottle of Merlot to an unusually attractive woman sitting alone at a table in a cozy little restaurant. So the waiter took the Merlot to the woman and said, "This is from the gentleman who is seated over there."... and indicated the sender with a nod of his head.
She stared at the wine coolly for a few seconds, not looking at the man, and then decided to send a reply to him by a note.
The waiter, who was lingering nearby for a response, took the note from her and conveyed it to the gentleman.
The note read:
"For me to accept this bottle, you need to have a Mercedes in your garage, a million dollars in the bank and '7' inches in your pants."
After reading the note, the man decided to compose one of his own in return. He folded the note, handed it to the waiter and instructed him to deliver it to the lady. It read:
"Just to let you know things aren't always what they appear to be, I have a Ferrari Maranello, BMW Z8, Mercedes CL600, and a Porsche Turbo in my several garages; I have beautiful homes in Aspen and Miami, and a 10,000 acre ranch in Louisiana. There is over twenty million dollars in my bank account and portfolio. But, not even for a woman as beautiful as you are, would I cut off three inches.
Just send the bottle back."
Ralph from Guelph has 2 roses that can be sent.
