I am a single father raising two great kids who just moved to the St Louis area this spring. While I have a large number of family who are very important to me in the area I know almost no one who I am unrelated to nor working with. While working in theater, the summer is an incredibly busy time and raising two kids doesn’t free up any more time, so now that things are settling down for me I want to meet more people. SOOO that being said I am looking to meet people who are fun and know the area and can share that knowledge with me.

Myself, I am a pretty laid back person, I feel comfortable in almost any setting. I like being near a major city so I can see art exhibits, eat fine food and enjoy the good things culture has to offer. I am also glad that if I go the same distance in the other direction I can find the good things that nature has to offer as well, such as hiking, biking and just enjoying the scenery.

I am one of those lucky people who have been able to turn their hobbies into a career. I work with my hands and enjoy doing all kinds of activates from painting, welding, carpentry, sewing and the list goes on and on. In my “free time” I enjoy things that stimulate my mind, good movies, theater, some TV, but I am not a junkie, I like books, and of course excellent conversation with another intelligent and enlightened individual.

I like people in my life who can laugh at anything, my sense of humor ranges from corny and quirky to smart and esoteric and often with a touch of dark comedy mixed in. Humor, Family/Friends and Creativity are all important to me and I would hope that anyone who I hang out with would want the same things for themselves.
Let’s see other qualities I think are worth mentioning but not sure of a smooth way to mention them so I’ll just be awkward for a moment: I am a smart, caring, tolerant, open minded, empathic and enlightened person (or at least I like to think so.)

I know this is getting long but here are a few insights to my personality:

A conversation between my dad and I which I will never forgot:
Me (as an excuse for something stupid I did): …but other guys were doing it.
Dad: That’s fine but I am not raising guys, I am raising Men.

Being an adult doesn’t mean being serious all the time, it only means knowing when you need to be serious. The rest of the time it’s up to you.

I have been called a Geek, and I wear that badge happily. My friends call me the Viking sometimes preceded by the adjective Crazy.

And just about any quote from Scrubs will make me laugh.
“Ketchup is for winners Ted!”
