I dropped out of society after college and have been traipsing around the world for the last 6 years - hiking long trails in the US and exploring Latin America. I've come home recently to be near aging family and think I need to set and digest my life experiences thus far, and spend the next few years more at home than away.

I know about myself that I'm a caring and thoughtful person who is genuinely interested in other people and the wider world. I know to others I can seem quiet and shy if I am socially uncomfortable or intimidating if I am deep in thought and not smiling.

I am open, honest, tolerant and understanding, slow to anger and quick to forgive or apologize.

My goals include; to attain ever higher degrees of education like a master's degree, WFR training, and TEFL certification.

My job is a service but I want to serve my community in my spare time as well, perhaps train my dog for therapy.

I aspire to walk long trails in many mountain ranges all over the world, practice a martial art and learn Portuguese.

I teach kindergarten, I am a vegetarian, I speak Spanish, I hiked the Appalachian trail. No one of those things makes me unique but the combination of them might.

This profile sounds a bit dry but I do have a sense of humor. I prefer to test the waters though, before I inflict it upon strangers.

I have a deep love for soulful music.

In a perfect world the first date might just happen. I meet you out somewhere going about my business (farmer's market, park, classroom) and we make a plan to do something together that we were each going to do anyway like go hiking, drinking, or check something out around town. In this world I'll compromise and let the internet facilitate the meeting.
