About Me
Looking to make friendsand occasional dating. I am separated with divorce papers filed, court date in January, but we hope to settle before that. This issue must be resolved before I could consider becoming seriously involved with anyone. But that does not mean we can not have a nice time to get to know each other, in a mutually comfortable and respectful setting.
I am well traveled in the USA, Europe and most recently Asia. I enjoy cooking - especially Asian (Thai). Traditional Italian (Sicllian) and Moroccan are also two of my favorite tastes. I graduated from a professional Thai cooking acadamy and consider myself well versed in Asian food. The rest of my cooking skills I learned from my Sicilian mother, aunts and grandmother.
I am both a dog and a cat person, but prefer Yorkies (they don't shed). Currently I live with a 3.5 lb pound Yorkie named "Lucy". We come as a packaged deal. She is totally dependent upon me and I need her as well.
My hobbies include cooking diverse ethnic foods, gardening, I visit the City Market nearly every weekend just to experience the atmosphere. I sneak Lucy in my packpack - who is to argue with a 3.5 lb ball of fur with a button nose?
And a guy who takes good care of a small dog says alot by itself.
I enjoy reading (mostly history), travel, going to museums, long drives in the country stopping at flea markets and other interesting places, small towns, places I've not been - just for the experience. I enjoy nature, but can be comfortable inside a house as well, depending upon my mood or the desire of the other person if I am with someone.
Musical tastes are all over the board. 60's - 80's, soft rock, classical. Actually anything from Joan Osborne to Andrea Boccelli is fine with me, peppering in Moroccan Rai and Lao Morlam.
I was fortunate to have a family that was into the Arts and that has proven to be a gift for me now. I studied piano from the age of 6 until I was a senior in Highschool. I played everytying from Chopin to Scott Joplin. Now, I do well just to entertain myself. If anything the lessons taught me to type fast.
I never was a good dancer so gave up trying, yet I'd still would like to learn Cajun 2-step.
I have a passion to study different cultures. I also find studying their language is one of the best ways to learn about the people. Most recently I studied Thai - which proved to be the most difficult language. But the best food on the planet.
My religion is more of a way of life than a 'belief system'. I have no interest in another's religion. If it works for them, and does not call for the death of others, then I support them in their beliefs.
I always try to listen to Michael Feldman, Click-Clack, and Prairie Home Companion on NPR - even when I'm out of the country.
BLOGS (mostly pics) of my international travels can be seen at: http://philthailand2009.blogspot.com
Enjoy.
First Date
A place that is comfortable for both and allows for good conversation. I'm not into bars, and a loud place just doesn't seem appropriate for a 1st date. Being able to give full attention to the moment is important to me.

 | Yes, Phil is as handsome as his picture! Yes, he is very knowledgeable on about any subject. Yes, he probably surpasses any man on here with cultural expertise. Yes, his culinary skills are outstanding! Yes, he has a lovely home and an adorable Yorkie! Yes, he is kindhearted and sweet and sensitive. But, what is the real reason I want to spend more time with this man? Because I genuinely LIKE him very much!! And, you will, too! (Please handle with tenderness!) |
 | Phil and I became friends as he is just seeking friendship due to his current situation. I spent some time with him on Saturday and thoroughly enjoyed myself. He took me to a couple of Asian Markets to gather ingredients to prepare a special Thai dish for me. If he offers to cook for you, be sure you accept, I promise you will enjoy it. The man knows his way around the kitchen. Lunch was delicious and he is a wonderful Host. His home is elegant and Phil is a kind, generous and interesting man. He is well traveled, and has much to share. I am looking forward to our continued friendship.
