I'm a smart, honest, independent, dependable, caring guy who enjoys making people laugh and is looking for that special someone to share my life with. I tend to be somewhat shy around new people, at least until I get to know them a bit. Once that happens my better side really comes out and shines.

I enjoy going out to the beach or pool with my boys, spending time with my family, catching a good movie (at the theaters or in my living room), and dining out the most, though I am open to all sorts of new experiences provided I have someone special to enjoy them with. I am trying to get back into some of the things I enjoyed as a child, particularly camping out and doing some light traveling.

I will say that I often don't get subtle hints, so it's probably best if you just come out and say what's on your mind with me. And although I love the little home improvement projects I do, don't expect me to be the next Bob Villa.

What I am looking for the most: a woman who is comfortable with herself, honest, funny, not looking for somebody to support her, sticks to her commitments, and tries to give as much to the relationship as she takes from it. Some shared interests would be nice, but at the same time I believe that our differences both define us and open up opportunities to try new things.

My two boys live with me most of the time so a potential partner would need to be comfortable around children and understand that they are the biggest priority in my life.

My favorite movies tend to be ones like Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, The Matrix, Transformers, X-Men, The Bourne Identity, and Underworld.

My television viewing tends to run the likes of Lost, Heroes, House, Fringe, The Big Bang Theory, and Bones.

My musical tastes are mostly stuck in the 80's and 90's hard rock/metal stuff. More recent stuff like Hinder and Nickelback also make appearances in my iPod list, as do some country artists like Alan Jackson and Toby Keith.

I like to keep first dates pretty simple. Like going for coffee or drinks somewhere relatively quiet.
