UPDATE: Just here for the forums for now. I have found another fishy to go swimming with!
I'm a librarian, and no, I don't fit the stereotype! I'm can be a little shy, but once I get to know you I'm very outgoing. I'm a warm, caring, loyal person and my female friends say I'm a (pause for dramatic sigh) "nice guy". I've been called a hopeless romantic, but I prefer to think of myself as a romantic optimist. There's nothing I won't do for that special someone, and there's a lot of love in this heart to share with the right person. I have a great sense of humor, love to laugh and enjoy good company. I don't play head games, and don't expect you to. I love spoiling the person I'm with, as long as there's occasional reciprocation! I enjoy cuddling in front of the fireplace, hence my college nickname, Teddy Bear. I love giving (and receiving) massages, and I'm told I'm very good at it. My general life philosophy is "don't sweat the small stuff". I enjoy most types of music, and love spending evenings at Nissan and Wolf Trap. I like the theater, like to spend time outdoors, and love nothing better than being in the woods fishing my favorite rivers. That's my down time, relaxing Natures solitude. Barnes & Noble and Borders are two of my favorite places, and I can spend hours in any book store. I coach and play volleyball, and have many vb friends. I also bowl in a league on Tuesday nights.
The lady I'd like to meet is smart, outgoing and has a great sense of humor. I find confidence, security and a sense of self to be very attractive traits. A rapier wit is always irresistable. Cliche though it sounds, I really believe what's inside is more important than what's on the outside, but chemistry still counts. I don't have a specific physical preference, but tall is a plus, and I get completely lost in a beautiful pair of eyes. If you like candlelight, drinks in front of the fireplace, movies, the outdoors, hole-in-the-wall restaurants, walks in the rain, or good books, then we will get along very well. A love of travel definitely helps, as I try to adhere to the rule "each year, go to a place you've never been before".
UPDATE: Not looking for a date at this point.
I would love to meet for coffee, drinks, perhaps dinner. If things go well we could take a walk around the neighborhood and get to know each other better. Where it goes from there depends on the chemistry we share. I believe that how you feel about the person you spend time with is more important than what you're doing. I love concerts, movies, and plays, and believe that sharing them with someone you care about makes them all the better.
