I like that the internet affords an opportunity to get a little more on someone than can be gotten from random meetings or introductions, but maybe too much information at first glance takes too much of the fun out of getting to know another person also. I believe so much more can (and must) be learned in person, so I really prefer to keep the online introductions rather brief - a few notes back and forth with questions and answers. I would think we'll know pretty quickly whether or not we want to meet face-to-face ... where the real communicating and all of the fun begins.

Yes I am a good guy (really). Yes I am honest, caring, trustworthy and open-minded ... like I would really admit any axe-murdering tendencies on here anyway! JK. Seriously, who would write on here about their dishonesty, selfishness, shallowness or any other 'less-than-desirable' qualities?

It's hard enough to get to know someone even after years of being with them, so I think it's awfully naive to expect that by spending two minutes reading a very subjectively written profile, people believe they can learn everything there is to know about a person. Beside that, it's so unfortunate that they want to know it all so soon. Half the fun is spending years growing into one another! Having said that, if there are specific things you would like to know about me - 'the deal breakers' and such, please introduce yourself and just ask! :)

Please be willing to send photos (recent is good). If you're 20 pounds overweight, so what...just don't have me believing you're something you're not. There's nothing worse than bad visual surprises on a first date!

On first dates, I have done everything from a quick meeting for coffee to flying us both to Washington DC for a Paul McCartney concert (onest - she happened to get two killer tickets at the last minute through work, that she couldn't use without getting there and I have the airline miles to make last-minute stuff like that possible. It was a blast actually!), and everything in-between. Being a big guy, I'm not really concerned with 'safety,' but totally understand when she is. Basically, I'm good with whatever you're comfortable with :)
