I've never tried out a dating site before...but I figured since it's free, why not?
So I'm 25. I work as a technical editor. I like to write short stories in my spare time--highly doubt I have a novel in me, but short stories and I agree. I like singing karaoke although I don't sound the same as I do in the shower--guess the acoustics aren't as good. I want to travel...but I never seem to make it much further than Vegas. I think I am one of the few people who actually goes to Vegas to gamble :) I am not a club person--I think I outgrew that some time in college. To be honest I'm more of a homebody. I don't mind the bar/lounge scene since that's pretty relaxed. The only time you will see me dance is when I have liquid courage or protected by the crowd. I'm probably the only black person that doesn't have natural rhythm.
I like being outdoors but if you want to swim with the sharks or bunjee jump that's not me. If you want someone to cook you dinner, go to a football game and watch a movie with you...I'm probably the girl. I'd like to say I'd open to anything and will try anything once, but sky diving isn't for me :).
I'm not looking for anyone high maintenance. If you like to spend five hours in the gym every day and deprive yourself of food, that's not me. Lol. More power to you but don't expect me to do it with you. I find that people who don't eat are very cranky :)
As for what I like: I tend to go for all sorts of guys. I definitely would like someone taller than me that has a good sense of humor (fans of Bernie Mac AND Mike Birbiglia please message immediately).
Race is not an issue with me...I've dated every spectrum in the rainbow. But if you're looking for someone 'hood--that's not me. I like guys who can make me laugh. I can go on and on as to what an amazing person I am, but the truth is, like most people I can be wound a bit tight at times and would like someone to help loosen me up.
I also feel the need to warn you that I like to play board games. No one will ever play with me...but I like to. I'm great at Scene-It (seriously, you can't beat me). So bonus points if you're a fan of board games :)
Ultimately, I am looking for a serious relationship. I'm 25 so I do have a pretty good idea of what I want in a guy. So if you're looking for a casual hook up/booty call, that's not me either. If you're looking for someone to hang out with, that could be me. If it doesn't work out, no harm done. At the very least we can be friends.
