About me -

I’ve just turned the ripe young age of 46 ... time flies when you’re having fun! Like everyone else here, I’d like to meet a friend, companion, confidante & lover. One question though, why is it so d*mned difficult to meet normal, easy going, nubile women in this town?

I've lived, worked and played in the Pasadena area for seven years now, and have been fortunate enough to have lived on three continents. Born on the east coast of Scotland, I spent most of my life growing up in Johannesburg, South Africa.

I’m a humble soul - I don’t have any delusions of grandeur, I am who I am – accept me for who I am … or not – it’s that simple! I was once told that I’m fairly attractive, (when I was in my teens, but I think she was just trying to get into my pants!) but beauty or the lack of it, lies in the eye of the beholder, does it not?

I’m quiet by nature, but an excellent listener - shy when first meeting attractive women … I do warm up and can be kinda playful once I get to know them though. I have a great sense of humor and enjoy a good laugh, even at my own expense. Friends would describe me as being optimistic (you have to be – placing an ad online), independent, adventurous, fun, kind, loving and caring, reliable, dependable, honest, trustworthy, intelligent, quiet, serious, very organized and have strong moral fiber and high personal values. I’ve been bloodied and bruised by the challenges thrown at me along life’s highway, but I’m still standing, and ready for the next challenge that life presents me.

I don't do drugs, don't smoke, very rarely drink, no tats or body piercings. If you’re looking for a plasticky, pretentious, materialistic, fake LA/Hollywood movie star type with good looks, perfectly bronzed toned bod & dazzlingly white teeth and smile – I’m definitely NOT your guy … like most guys & girls my age, I have a few physical and personality flaws and faults – you can choose to see past them … or not!

The first thing people usually notice about me – apart from my shy but sunny disposition … probably my Cali-Scotti-South African accent. I hum, tap my foot, or play imaginary guitars and drums when listening to my Ipod ... I just can't help myself!

I’m the very proud dad of a beautiful twenty-year-old daughter, who is about to complete her third year at university in South Africa. She's going to be spending Thanksgiving with me this year … I’m really looking forward to seeing and spending time with her again. My rest of my family who are very important to me, live in Scotland, and I’m planning on visiting them towards the end of the year.

I enjoy my career working with children because I get to teach them about something I really enjoy. I have a reasonably good balance between work and play – I work all night and play all day.

About you:
I’d really like to meet a woman between the age of 34 & 46 who is emotionally stable and mature, not into playing games, someone who knows what she wants from life and would like to fall in love and have a long-term relationship. I’m open to the possibility of having more children if my partner is willing and able. I’m usually attracted to women who have both an inner and outer beauty, hopeless romantics,physically active, sensual, intelligent, creative, passionate, great sense of humor and fun to be with, kind, warm, honest, reliable, independent, adventurous and who are as drama-free as possible. I'm not looking for the perfect woman, just a woman who is perfect for me!

So there’s no confusion regarding my relationship status – I’m single/available though I have been "separated" for over a year now. I’m ready to move on with my life, and hopefully you are too – I don’t have any drama on that front.

What I like to do in my spare time -

I enjoy dining out with good company - without having a real favorite food, though I’m really partial to Indian curries. I enjoy going to the movie theater - psychological thrillers are my favorite genre.

I enjoy watching movies, going to and watching live sporting events, concerts, going to the beach & going for long walks when I have the opportunity. I also enjoy a day out at Venice … it’s entertaining seeing all walks of life there!

I enjoy going for weekend drives up and down the California coast.

I’m a big sports fan and enjoying watching most live and televised sports that have a ball in them.

What I’m doing with my life -

Just spent some time visiting my parents and daughter in Scotland over the summer!

I was really fortunate to have the opportunity to see U2 at Wembley Stadium in London in August – was absolutely awesome! Went to see U2 at the Rose Bowl - was fab, but not as good as the Wembley gig! there must have been 100,000 people at the Rose Bowl that night - jam packed!

My favorite music and movies -

I enjoy listening to music (I’m a big U2 fan - love the new album) but also enjoy classic rock (Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Dire Straights, Jimi Hendrix, Rush, Santana) & alternative rock (Coldplay, Kings of Leon, Foo Fighters, Green Day, Linkin Park.). I also enjoy listening to reggae (Bob Marley & the Wailers, UB40) and 80's music (Depeche Mode, The Cure, Duran Duran, The Police, Tears for Fears, Simple Minds, Bronski Beat, Eurythmics, Human League, Madness, New Order, Talk Talk, The Thompson Twins, Yazoo), also enjoy The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, The Doors, Madonna, REM, Queen, Phil Collins, Simply Red, Lenny Kravitz, Roxy Music, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers and many more!

Thrillers are my favorite movies – recently enjoyed Michael Clayton, Body of Lies, State of Play, Valkyrie, Defiance, Duplicity, Frost/Nixon, Gran Torino, American Gangster, The Bourne Trilogy, Collateral, Jackie Browne, The Kingdom, Trainspotting, True Romance, American Beauty, Layer Cake, The Departed, The Good Shepherd, Munich, Schindler’s List. I’m a huge Guy Ritchie fan and absolutely loved Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, Snatch, and more recently Rock n Rolla.
