I have an optimistic outlook and can usually find the positive and/or funny side of most situations. Laughter IS the best medicine.
Releasing the stresses of life by lazing on a beach or on a deck overlooking the water is as good for your health as energizing your body with a brisk hike on the Bruce Trail or swimming laps in the pool.
I prefer to date one man at a time, getting to know him as a person, then as a friend. If the friendship can be maintained in spite of our respective foibles and quirks, then we stand a chance with a long-term, committed relationship. If not, then hopefully, we can part amicably and maintain a level of friendship that works for both of us.
I’m looking for a man that is willing and able to give back to me what I will give to him….honesty, loyalty, supportiveness and eventually, a life-long commitment. He needs to want to work together as a unit, sharing conversation while cooking meals, doing household chores, or outside activities.
He must also be comfortable and secure having time apart while we enjoy our own activities that the other isn’t into. He must know that snuggling up on the couch together, reading or doing puzzles in total silence can be as intimate an experience as gazing into each other’s eyes and expressing our feelings and desires over a candlelit dinner.

First Date
I'm very open to the venue for a first date. Whether it's a fine dining experience or Swiss Chalet is immaterial as long as you are able to hear each other talk. And, yes, there is the old standby meet and greet and Timmies.
You can find out a lot about a person's character over a few games of pool. Golf works well too. If you can go 18 holes with someone without wanting hop in the cart and drive off without them, there's a pretty good chance there might be a second date.
