I am somewhat of a traditionalist and believe that chivalry isn't dead (not as long as I'm alive, at least). I open doors for a lady and believe in "ladies first". I take pride in being a gentleman. I am honest, almost to a fault and expect honesty in anyone with whom I get involved.

I work and live downtown. I have the luxury of walking to work and do so as often as possible (yes, even in the winter!). I enjoy exercise and being physically fit. I alternate between a weight machine and an inclined treadmill. Outdoor activity includes walking/hiking and some skiing (I grew up on downhill skis, but lately seem to prefer cross country). I prefer quiet, remote locations. I am not a fan of festivals or crowds. I do not watch or follow any sports. Vacation locations tend to favor mountainous areas (great for hiking and breath-taking scenery) and the Door County Peninsula (during the off-season for hiking, shopping and wine by the fire). Indoor activities include cooking. I love to cook. I am part Italian and enjoy making Italian dishes (homemade pastas, homemade pizza - even the crust, risottos with homemade stock, etc.). I also enjoy baking. I enjoy reading and do so quite often. I am not a fan of television. In fact, I don't have cable, satellite or a digital converter. I enjoy watching movies (wide variety of interests). Being downtown, I have a huge variety of restaurants very close to me and enjoy the many choices from five star to no star and all ethnic varieties. Musically, I enjoy a wide variety of genres (classical, jazz, comtemporary instrumental, some of the modern stuff). In terms of live music, I prefer the symphony or a small jazz or blues ensemble.

I teach part time at a local university. Quantitative stuff - statistics, economics, accounting, etc. I've been there for over 10 years now. I really enjoy being in the classroom. It's a hobby I get paid for.

So, if leaving the car at home, enjoying a fabulous dinner, a symphony concert, a post-concert drink at an upscale downtown establishment and a nightcap by the fire with a skyline view of downtown sounds like your idea of a good time, please respond.

One last thing (yeah, right). I only date one lady at a time. I always have and always will. I would expect a lady to practice the same.
