My most prominent hobby is amateur radio. I've been involved with that since early 2004.

My main goal is to make it through life doing as little damage as possible on the way. As I have recently retired, after 40 years of working, I don't currently have any pressing materialistic goals.

What makes me unique - hmmm - well, beyond the same uniqueness that we all have in common ( :) ) I have traveled and lived both inside and outside the U.S. and feel I have lived an interesting life - there is much that can be learned from an interesting life.

Also - if you are looking for an intelligent man, I may be worth your checking out - at the risk of sounding pompous, or arrogant, or, fill-in-the-blank, I possess an IQ which is above average.

I like rock and roll - '60s/'70s, mostly... - and some more modern stuff... not interested in either country or western :)

Important note: - I cannot stand being around cigarette smoke or cigarette smokers. Please keep that in mind. Also, religious fanatics turn me off. I'm just not into that sort of brainwashing.

I think anything that appeals to both parties, and allows each to feel safe and comfortable, would be suitable for a first date. The intent is to break the ice and see if there's any future.
