About Me
I have yet to discover a method of meeting new people in this old town...and this seems to be where all of the kindred solitary spirits are hanging out these days.

After going it alone for a few years now... I know that sharing experiences (like enjoying a good meal, watching live music, going to the farmers market, spontaneous weekend roadtrips, etc) with another person makes me smile a bit more and laugh a bit harder.
So I'm here and I am a private person, which makes it somewhat scary to put myself out there.

I would love to hear from people near me and hope to make new friends from neighbouring provinces and neighbouring continents. I have plans to travel in the next year... convince me that your neck of the woods is worth checking out!

Music... I LOVE music. Leonard Cohen writes the hymns I worship, Neil Young rocks my socks, Joni Mitchell is lovely, gospel choirs lift me up, I love The Band, sometimes I need a good energetic punk rock song, I have been known to enjoy the old fashioned music of my grandparents era, and also folky, rocky, good beats and rhythms (but please no bongo solos)I am not a huge fan of Top40/dancey/electronic/gangstarap/redneckcountry and I will possibly judge you by your musical collection (but most likely google it and hopefully discover something new and amazing.) Send me a note about the farthest distance you have traveled to a live music show.

I spend a lot of time thinking about moving to the country and being a pioneer farm girl.

Now some things about you...
You like music. You listen to the words, buy the albums you like and have possibly travelled distances or endured thunderous downpours just to see your favorite artists. I would like to hear about those moments. Maybe you play an instrument, or maybe you don't.

You strive to have a healthy outlook on life. You have a sense of humour and a sense of self. Hopefully you don't smoke more than rarely>occasionally, and drink in moderation.

You aren't afraid of getting your hands dirty digging in gardens and could help me replace a faucet, light fixture or build a chicken coop or small cabin... if the need or whim arose.

You have a kick ass camping kit and can cook delicious meals over any sized flame.

You are friendly, you listen and you are affectionate. You have learned the art of gentle communication both verbally and physically.

You like what you do to pay the bills...even if it's a temporary measure to get to what you want to be doing. You are comfortable with your quality of life.

You have values both old and new fashioned and you are respectful, honest, tolerant, loyal and kind. You are mature and independent.

You don't watch a lot of TV, you like spelling words correctly, you use your library card, and sub-titles are OK in your books...errr... I mean in your films.

You prefer the country over the city.

You are not racist, sexist, or generally angry towards humanity.

You are spontaneous, realistic, thoughtful, enthusiastic, practical, decisive and easygoing.... oh and funny. You are a complex, sometimes conflicting set of adjectives.

You have read this far. :-)

(Oh and I'm actually a Taurus if that means anything to you.)

First Date
If a first meeting is the date, then let's just get it over with. Once we have made a successful impression as kinda cute and funny, and non-scary...then we can figure out logistics.
