| | I am looking to meet new people and go out and have some fun. I guess that's what dating is - also cool to meet new people and see what they have to teach me. I was off POF for quite a while but thought I would try it again. My life is full and busy so I have not so much time to get out and meet people so this seems like a good idea (at the time). I thought I would look on here to see what turns up. I am of mixed race and am open to other cultures - there is something fun about learning about different backgrounds and ways of thinking.
I just got a cat - been a long time since I had one - this should be fun.
I am somewhat non-materialistic - though not to an extreme. My family I grew up in taught me my interest in community wellbeing, current events and tolerance people's differences. I not only respect differences but really enjoy learning about them. I am involved in cultural events and have a worldview that is informed by traditions from my culture.
I enjoy reading - both non-fiction and fiction (from sci-fi to Canadian authors & mystery). I like all of Ian Rankin's work. I read a wide variety of non-fiction. History and politics of the middle east, art history, biographies - the last one was about Ho Chi Minh.
From living in a small community I learned to appreciate entertaining at home, and the fun of just being together. I do like the city now though - and all it has to offer in the way of interesting events and things to do. I have done a number of different things in my life - from fishing, clam digging, to farm labour and work in a number of office situations. I was fortunate to find work in my field since graduating from university and learned a lot, had some interesting times.
