I am a graduate student in the second year of my MA degree. After this year, I plan to find a job teaching high school English, and I'm extremely excited to take some time and settle into a comfortable (but not complacent) lifestyle. In my free time, I read for pleasure, go to the movies/Netflix, keep myself in shape, and just enjoy spending time with close groups of friends. I love to cook, and will happily cook for my significant other. I love going to Philly sports games (primarily the Phils and the Birds), but I'm totally open to new interests, and would very much like to be introduced to new hobbies. I am a huge fan of the theater, but I don't get to go very often, and I really enjoy art galleries, even though I know next to nothing about art and am no artist at all.

I plan to be a high school teacher after I finish my graduate degree. I have debated going on for a PhD, but I'd like to take some years off school and settle down a bit.

What makes me unique? I try to be as open, empathetic, conversational, and personal as I can be. I'm very affectionate, both verbally and physically, but I do like having space when I need to be productive. I come from a highly self-sacrificing family, so that's how I view love and caring relationships, but I certainly prefer that my significant other has a life, mind, and friends of her own.

I listen to lots of different types of music, from poppy punk music to Fred Astaire to finger picked/folk guitar. I'm pretty open, but generally don't prefer to listen to rap/hip hop/r&b, though there are exceptions, and I'm open to a good artist if someone introduces me to them.

On a first date, I'm open for doing any number of things. I'm a huge fan of staying in - I cook you dinner and we watch a movie, but that probably doesn't fly for a first date. I think dinner is always good, if for no other reason than because we get to talk, so I'd like to go out to dinner. I'd be happy to go anywhere where we can do something fun but still get a chance to talk.
