About Me
I'm not saying I don't have my weaknesses, idiosycrasies, and less than shiny moments, but overall, I'm a catch: I'm fun, big-hearted, predictably spontaneous, amazing in the kitchen, creative and passionate and funny. Oh and cute. And other good stuff too but I've already taken this bragging thing too far. I'm looking for someone intriguing, generous and inspiring. A doer of stuff. Smart and funny too. Oh, and into dancing and biking would be great too. So maybe I'm asking for it all, but to keep me interested my match has gotta be quite something else.
I'm pretty good at enjoying life, and within reason I believe that if it feels good and tastes good it's good for you. I'm active and healthy. Lately I've really been enjoying swimming and running. When things become a chore, I tend to avoid it. And almost every week I try to find an outlet for my need to dance to some good electronic music. I used to go to a lot live indie shows, but the energy of the crowd if not the band usually disappoints and it's just not as much fun as it used to be - but I make exceptions. Watching live theatre and modern dance performances I find inspiring but it's been a while. What else? I love stretching. It feels great - why don't people do it more, like when they're in line at the bank? I like to listen to news and culture stuff of the radio when I clean my apartment. Ummm, I'm lately trying to find new music to get into, but bands/acts that I've had crushes on this year or so: Bon Iver, The National, Blind Pilot, Jenny Lewis, Jenn Grant, Seven Ark, Elliott Brood, and latest exciting discovery is the Avett Brothers... well I gotta stop that short so I can run to meet my friend at the pool. Lists are weird anyway - they say something about what you care about but they divide people by taste which isn't that cool. But we all do it. An example of our conflicted modern life - mine anyway. Cough. Ah hem.
I don't want to be too specific about what I'm looking for, but here goes: someone kind, unconventional, funny, confident, who doesn't try to impress or have to be right, who doesn't agree with me too much, someone active and creative and passionate, and maybe a little restless but also has a calm energy. Someone within a half hour bike ride, preferably, and someone who's easy on the eyes and becomes more and more attractive and I get to know them.
The following takes you out of the running, I'm afraid to report - LOL (I cringe at this!), lots of bad spelling and grammar, bitterness towards the world, pictures of you with your ex blacked out (come on! very poor judgement!), lots of pictures with 'rock on' or whatever hand gestures, strip teases, and 'check out my ****in car' kinda thing. I'm not trying to offend anyone here and I don't pretend to speak for all women either. I'm just trying to help you figure out if you've a shot.
Peace and love
First Date
Although I'm a pretty social person, this kind of thing is inherently a bit uncomfortable, and given how much weight first impressions have, let's do something active together, let things flow and sorta indirectly check each other out.
