About Me
Resemblance to any character in Sex and the City purely coincidental; have not read The Da Vinci Code. Would anyone online own up to an affinity with “the crummy things in life”? What happens to women who take long walks on short beaches? Are men voted off the island if they fail the apparent first requirement: effortless/lightning fast transitions from jeans to tux. If I’m missing the ‘I want to be different, just like every body else’ gene, will I still get to sit with the cool kids at lunch? Is it just a personal problem that I’m increasingly uncomfortable with overuse of the word ‘uncomfortable’?
Extensively traveled, having lived in 5 countries (ex is an intrn’l pilot). I'm from New Orleans. We are not raised by tourists- don't think 'Girls Gone Wild', think Wynton Marsalis and Harry Connick Jr. Complex but loooow maintenance; youthful, growth oriented and energetic. Tend to be direct- of a 'life is too short', low on the baloney mentality.
My people live to celebrate life. I question all, use good judgment with out harshly judging: seek to understand before seeking to be understood. A young empty nester (sniff, I MISS that kid!) with strong family values. Entertainment is great, but not looking for the party life. I work in Murray Hill and live in Park Slope.
Would like to meet a ‘grown up’ with a real life, sense of humor, a bit of style, memorable scent, will kiss for hours on demand and strong opinions he can back up with actual facts. I most value integrity, respect and growth. My fantasy would be a mixture of a Jimmy Stewart (at 45) and Dennis Quaid (anytime) with a dash of Pepe le Peu (laser focused, a skunk who really knows what he wants:). I am deeply, and unashamedly in love with Steven Colbert. He is funnier than the Rock- yeah, I said it! Prefer quality over quantity. If romance is not in the cards, friendships also interest me. Run on a ‘no games’ policy (please be very clear if you email me). Last but not least: the point of being ON this thing is to get OFF of it...
for fun: The arts- high brow or low brow, performance or visual, as long as it is moving or provocative. Great conversation is most important: cabernet, a fireplace and a little Miles Davis thrown in couldn't hurt :)
my ethnicity: How white? Light eggshell, w/a pink over tone and blue under tones. I'm French/Acadian, from da Bayou Chere’: proceed with caution! Grandmother is a direct descendant of King Louis IX- known as St Louis.
my religion: My faith is foundational to my life, but don’t wrestle anyone to the ground about it. Under certain circumstances, I have administered the odd noogie (not as severe as a wedgie, similar to a monkey shine) to a deserving party…just once or twice.
my education: Communications Major- in my case it paid off anyway
favorite hot spots: Is that a trick question- 118 character limit for NYC? Serious foodie. Been to a lg % of the greatest US (and many non US) restaurants. Cajun= ‘great cook’, for others, not myself- most days it’s a choice between my size 6 jeans and etouffee.
last read: Blink and The Tipping Point, The Kingfish, Gore Vidal's Making a Nation, Tell Me How You Love The Picture, Dr Denese' Ageless book, Perfectly Legal, 1 Dead In Attic
