It's not the purest form of truth but I really appreciate the sentiments.

My contribution:
I'm gainfully employed, have all my own teeth, no criminal record and know how to use my turn signals. Of course, these are reasonable expectations for everyone, no? I'm just getting back into having a social life and I've been told that the above are exceptional rather than fundamental attributes. While I shake my head in wonder, I'm happy to say that I can actually exceed that standard. How about, I'm "handy" and I don't mean that in any sleazy way. Not only can I change light bulbs, I know how to install the fixture that the bulb goes into. Also, I tread lightly when it comes to matters of the heart. I think trust & understanding are absolutely crucial in a relationship. Further, I can be very "punny", you know fun in a corny way. No matter how far I push the envelope, it'll still be stationary...I make joke, you laugh! (well, ok, but ya had to at least smile a little bit)

I can be sarcastic and flippant at times, unfortunately, if you don't understand the underlying intent or know how to communicate on several levels at the same time, then I'm not your guy. I've lived long enough to know that this is actually part of my nature. Also, you should know that I like an occasional steak and I read more than I watch TV. I'm not a huge sports fan and I'm an honorably discharged veteran but do not watch Fox News. I'm also 5'7" and just over 200lbs. I state "average" on my profile because there isn't an option for "Stocky." I say these to save trouble and time. There is no sense in skirting around facts. I've been out with several women that found some or several of the above obstacles. People like what they like and I am who I am, such is life.

Dates? I love dates!

Sure, conventional coffee "meets" are fine and they seem to be obligatory in this day and age. I don't have anything against the ordinary dinner date either. I'm also interested in a more adventurous sort of "together" activity, you know, something that brings out a little of the "inner" you? The trick is to pick something that we'll both enjoy. Now, that is a tall order. It takes a bit to figure that out. Mostly, I'd ask if there is something you'd like to try but just never find the time? How about some hobby? Do bee-keeping, frisbee golf, or body surfing count? How about just "people-watching" some place where all the "pretty people" hang out?

I'm not from around here so there are tons of "touristy" things I haven't done yet...wink ;-}
