I'm an active, energetic, social guy with a strong independent streak. I own my own biz and love to travel domestically and overseas.

I work out 3-4 times a week (swimming, hill walks, and free weights), but exercise isn't the core of my existence.

Have some strong political views and opinions, but I'm very open to hearing what others think and believe. Reasoned debate, open communication, and active listening are my things.

I spend lots of time with my twin 10-year-old boys, but still carve out plenty of time for hikes, museum- and film-going, travel, reading, university and professional classes, and writing.

My musical tastes are eclectic -- ranging from Linkin Park, Green Day, The Who, and the Beastie Boys -- to Monteverdi, Dvorak, and Mozart -- to Wayne Shorter, Gato Barbieri, and Miles DaviS.

I believe strongly in the need for fundamental economic, social and political change -- the urgency of which has beocme increasingly clear in the past year or two. Yet at the same time, I don't minimize the need for individual growth and development. In other words, I take stock of (and work on) myself.

I really like to get things done (big on follow through). And by openly declaring this, others can (and do) hold me to it.

When people say I'm youthful looking (for my not-so-advanced age). I usually tell them my secret is growing up in fun (but crazy) New York City.

To get acquainted on a first date, I prefer to meet at a cafe, or other informal, public setting.
