I'm just checking this out to see what is out there. I'm tired of those you find at the bar and am looking for somebody who doesn't think that is the place to go every weekend. I'd like to find someone who has a realistic approach to life and knows what they want out of it.

To quote a song, "the dream never dies, just the dreamer." If you know who sings that song, bonus points to you. This quote is something I'd like to say somewhat directs my life. I've tried to keep my dreams alive while living the life I am. Not to say I don't like what I've been doing, but I still have goals I'd like to reach.

In case you haven't noticed with the song quote above and in the headline, I'm a huge music fan, especially classic rock. This could explain the collection of records I've obtained and do actually listen to. To me it sounds better with the skips and pops than it does on CD. Music is one part of my life, but I also like classic cars, woodworking and sports, specifically hockey, golf and curling. These interests could explain some of my goals of wanting to restore an old muscle car or two and build my own house.

As for what I'm looking for, I am a big fan of humor and smarts. Knowing when to be a nerd and when to be a comedian are huge parts of what attracts me to someone. Carrying on a conversation at an intellectual level is something that is becoming a rarity and is a sign that somebody has their head attached firmly on their shoulders. This is also a key in me being able to appreciate someone.

I think something out of the ordinary. Movies don't allow people to talk and get to know each other. It would depend on the people involved too. Something that makes both of us look foolish may be a good icebreaker.
