Now I am wondering if there is any good companionship in the local area, and would or could that be you? If you are looking for "your Angel, Princess, or someone to take care of" -- keep looking because I am not your woman. I don't follow behind anyone. I am looking for someone willing and able to walk next to me and see what life has to offer. I already have my own income, I have some “stuff” but it is paid for and I don’t put a lot of value on things. It is my faith in God above, the people in my life, and the quality of the life I am living that matters, anything else might be nice but will never be enough of a substitute for me.

My closest friends – the small handful that I trust with my life - describe me as friendly, outgoing, energetic, independent, and fiercely loyal. I love to be around people but enjoy spending time by myself, especially when camping although the right company can be fun. My daughter has recently added “Social Butterfly” to the description because I talk, network, and float through the club wherever most times unless I’m watching the football game. People interest me and there is always another story to hear from someone.

Some items that I appreciate most in a partner are honesty, caring, showing up, snuggling, kissing and laughing.

What makes me laugh is a good joke, life in general, the sun coming up and that I am still this side of the dirt.

I love good music – usually Country, then older Rock and Jazz, prefer live bands; enjoy dancing, a couple of Bud Lite Limes & coffee. "The Country Club" on Washington Rd in Augusta sees me on most Friday & Saturday nights because I do not like to stay home when there is music available – the couch will still be there on other nights. Panera's gets me for coffee & backgammon with a friend on almost a daily basis, then maybe the Family Y for walking or swimming. I enjoy good conversation; reading books on just about any topic; doing crafts, drawing, painting, playing cards, pinochle, backgammon, cribbage and chess. Absolutely love long walks, just being outside, and driving anywhere for no reason at all!

I like to be different and distinctive such as wearing my hats; love my $2.50 black fedora from Goodwill and my “Over-the-Hill Turned 50” red cowboy hat. I never bother to lie about my age even though no one seems to believe me, and my daughter claims I behave as if I am in my twenties with her. You are only as young or old as you want to be, the number is just to our credit for the miles we have traveled so far. I have been married, been divorced, life has been complicated, and yes, if you ask for the details I will probably tell you how I got to living in NY from NJ and then down here to GA – but that is just the “wake” left behind the boat of my life. Remembering the past is not the same as living in the past. It is not who and what I am now. I am an “Army Brat,” I have lived and traveled across our fair country, and love her dearly. I have also worked hard at many jobs from factory, warehouse, computer rooms, and colleges. I have also had the pleasure of team driving a tanker truck for a while before needing back surgery. Might say I have worn many “hats” in this life and yet the one I cherish the most (and always wear) is Mom. I am blessed with a daughter who is grown to a lovely woman in her own standing and after college moved here to be near me. Her older half-brother blesses me by calling me “Mom,” and has just made me a “Grandma” too, but I have to travel to Upstate NY to see them.

Other than planning a camping trip to explore New Mexico this coming spring/summer and enjoying babysitting a beautiful little girl right now, I just have not got anything written in stone until the Good Lord calls me Home. Maybe I'll do some of the things I haven't done for way too long a time now like get my fishing license and just go spend some time enjoying being outside, find someplace to go horseback riding, put gas in the car for another road trip to wherever.
