I have just moved to New Orleans from Dallas, but I am a traveling NYer. A job brought me here, but I have been coming to New Orleans for Jazz Fest since '99. I have always loved the vibe and culture of this city, so when the opportunity posed itself I jumped. I hope to be apart of the rebith of New Orleans, volunteering and getting involved in the community as much as I can. There are so many interesting parts of this city, I sometimes don't know where to start. I have been taking in as many live music shows as I can, one of the things I missed about NYC while I was living in Dallas. I enjoy all sorts of music and you can find a mix from Black Star to the Black Keys to Alicia Keys on my itunes. While I was in Dallas I used to listen to the Cajun/Zydeco hour on public radio every monday night. I listen to wwoz when not listening to my music. I am enjoying the unique New Orleans sound, Rebirth at the Maple Leaf, Soul Rebels at Le Bon Temps. And I can't wait for VooDoo fest! I enjoy hitting the art galleries on Royal and Julia, one of my first festivals here was white linen and dirty linen nights. I enjoy the architecture of the city, from Uptown to the Garden, to the Marigny and the colorful paint jobs. I started out living in Quarter but have settled into Uptown for now (trying for the Marigny). I walk a lot, another thing I missed about NYC. I enjoy finding the local spots hidden all over the city. I do work, but it is just to pay the bills, looking to switch gears and focus more on a community or service focus. Hopefully this gives you an idea of who I am, if not enough, ask.

Bite to eat a local haunt, someplace where the setting was relaxed and the conversation would be easy . I have really been enjoying Ignatius Eatery on Magazine lately. Maybe a****ail at one of the Ogden Museum's late nights or a gallery opening on Julia St. If everything goes well, a short hop to DBA on Frenchman, a seat in the window, and watch the people walk by to a hopefully good soundtrack,laughs and conversation. Sounds good?
