About Me
Hello, thanks for stopping by. I'm a MD/DC native and moved back to the area last year after spending some time in Los Angeles. I'm educated, well traveled and enjoy my job but it does not define me. Having spent time on two coasts pursuing two very different careers, I've come to appreciate both my right and left brain. I'm fortunate to have a wide spectrum of friends who range from lawyers, politicos and doctors to filmmakers, starving artists and writers.
Some fun facts: -I am a lawyer who acted on the side for 3 years. I nearly broke through into the industry a few times but am now content with what I accomplished and seek a more normal existence. Art is a big part of my life, though now more as a spectator than a participant; -My friends would say I'm the go to guy when it comes to advice, listening and understanding; -Family first, hands down; -Travel - favorite destination thus far has been Oxford, England and Italy a close second. Been waaaaay too long since I've taken a trip overseas - need travel partner in crime; -Exercise - the gym is good, a rigorous hike is better. Break out the SPF 70 and the sunglasses; -Romantic - I got it covered but only when the time is right; -Currently chain listening to 'Northern Sky' by Nick Drake (favorite song). Check out his album Bryter Layter, it's fantastic
As for what I'm looking for, I think it starts with a great friendship. There is nothing more satisfying than sharing: a rapport with someone complete with inside jokes that's your own code, communication that flows with ease, a comfortability with those ocassional moments of silence and most of all trust. That being said, there needs to be chemistry and sparks if it is to go beyond friendship. Chemistry is in part about physical attraction but to me it's a lot more than that and hard to define - like air it's very real but impossible to see. I think it's best to start with hello and go from there.
[I have one big pet peeve: mutual courtesy should be a given but is sadly becoming rarer these days. I believe in communication and being upfront about where one stands. Dating is hard enough without silly guessing games.]
First Date
I prefer to keep things simple, a drink or cup of coffee. Sometimes a visit to a museum is also a good low key first date. Anything that allows free flowing conversation so we can see if sparks are there.
