About Me
Just moved to Seal Beach, so I guess my username doesn't quite make sense anymore. Like a lot of people on here I got tired of the bar scene and was hoping this would be a healthy alternative.
I like to think about what the internet is and what it could be. My work is websites, but I don't like sitting in front of a computer. I enjoy the problem solving aspect of the internet as a medium for information. I'm still hung up on whether the internet is good or evil, or if it's both just like life.
I read more when I work less, I love dystopian novels and character stories. Brave New World, 1984, Animal Farm Dostoyevsky rocks and I actually bought a first edition of the fist english version of White Nights (I saw the movie that was supposed to be "lossely" based on it but thought it was kind of a stretch of a comparison). I'm about 1/2 way through Crime and Punishemt, it's a sweet copy with a little yellow string built-in bookmark. Bukowski can be a good time as well.
Musically I'm kind of retarded (I have a friend who keeps up to date on the latest & greatest, but don't actually discover new bands myself) ... I like old bands mainly Syd Barret, Talking Head, The Clash, Tom Yorke, Radiohead, Keller Williams, Dr. Dog
Midgets fascinate me and I thought In Bruges was beyond awesome and totally redeemed Colin Farrel. Though I don't own many movies I do indeed have a copy of Willow (besides Time Bandits). I have a problem paying more than $5 for a dvd, I think it's some type of conditioning that has happened based on the enjoyment of looking through the mystery bin at Walmart.
I've turned to the internet to meet people because life is to short to hope to stumble across that perfect someone in a bar.
I'm an east coaster by birth and I've spent many a year in New Jersey, Philadelphia, and Oklahoma, but in my heart I like to think I'm from Massachusetts though I never lived there, my parents both were born & raised there, but my dad being in the military we never lived there but did travel there multiple times a year since the beginning of time (time as I know it).
I find it so bazaar that so many people have turned to the internet for dating and my hope is it would be a way to find someone special that I could click with but it's funny that online you see so many vanilla profiles/people.
I always like finding random sites online with interesting movie lists (or book lists).
My favorite movies would be Y Tu Mama Tambien, You me and everyone, In Bruges, Truman Show, Weekend at Bernies, Groundhog Day TV: Sunny in Philly & Bored to Death (3 episodes so far have all been spot on awesome)
It's funny I don't think online dating is less awkward than bar dating or randomly meeting someone in a grocery store, from an outsider's perspective I always thought it was the case.
That's all I've got to say at the moment, if you got something to say let me know. If nothing else I think I'm going to usurp a bunch of this content and spruce up my meager profile.
