About Me
There are so many hobbies that I currently have and that I continue adding to my repertoire but here are some: Indoors I like to cook, meditate, watch movies, and do art. Outdoors I like to run, hike, bike rides, take long walks anywhere, also meditate, watch live music, dance and expose myself to other hobbies I have not heard of or have been afraid to try... I also want to travel as much as possible- I have not had the opportunity yet but one day I just know I will be able to visit places all over the world!
I am looking forward to working in the social services field in order to make as many positive impacts possible. I currently work with teens at a psychiatric hospital and also work at an adoptions department. I have many interests when working with children and families so I am open to whatever comes my way regarding my career :)
I consider myself a very sweet, smart, considerate woman. I have been told by many people that it makes sense I would have chosen social work as my career path because I am a good listener, I always try to help others, and always try to keep an optimistic outlook. I have gotten much better at changing my attitudes from negative to positive during challenging times in my life. I still have much work to do but feel that I've slowly been accomplishing many of these types of goals I set myself. I grew up believing that loyalty to myself and others is a great thing and I have definitely embraced this idea. I value friendships and believe they lay the foundation for any type of relationship that could evolve...
As far as music goes, I love discovering new types of music. Live music, for me, provides the opportunity to become part of the song and the lyrics. I am a very spiritual person and I feel that music is one of those universal things that everyone can enjoy, no matter from what part in the world. Feeling that I share something with millions of people at the same time is an indescribably beautiful feeling!
First Date
I believe that first dates could be enjoyable whether it is dinner and a movie or going to a loud concert and then grabbing something to eat. The setting is not as important to me as the person I am with.
This person must be attuned to the conversation we are having and be able to read cues. Someone who looks all around but never at me while I am speaking would come across as rude and I would feel that you are not interested in me. At that point I would appreciate you telling me that the date is not going as you would have hoped and we can end it at that. I value honesty and always feel that it is the best policy- so whatever it is, especially on the first few dates, let's just put it out there and save each other time if we feel it is not going in a direction we feel comfortable with.
Also, chivalry is much appreciated! I don't expect someone to open doors for me, pull out chairs, pay for me, etc. but I also do not appreciate someone who may walk away without me, leaves me with the bill all the time, answers cell phone calls while we are speaking, etc.
I want to feel like we could be at least friends after our first date.
If you feel that you agree with me on these things, perhaps there are many other things we may have in common! Otherwise, thank you for reading this but I don't think we would be too compatible.
Oh, and P.S...I would really prefer to be with someone who does not drink much more than one or two drinks PER MONTH and who certainly does NOT need alcohol/drugs to have a good time :)
