About Me
I moved to Edmonton two years ago. If the people I’ve met are at all representative, then I am probably not the typical kind of gay person that populates this fine city. I may even be slightly proud of that.
If I had to describe myself I would say that I am an even-tempered, relaxed kind of guy. I can hold my own in a spirited conversation. My career is important to me, as is keeping in shape. I’m firmly on the straight-acting end of the spectrum.
Being gay is a small part of my life. I consider myself someone who cares deeply about politics and current events and who is devoted to the life of the imagination in all of its forms (literature, music, theatre, art, and film). I want to make some kind of contribution to the community so I volunteer and serve on committees and boards where I can.
For my future goals, I would like to do the following, in no particular order: (1) Run a country, island, or small city-state; (2) Write several respectable books (and one scandalous one); (3) Win a Nobel Prize (maybe Physics, Physics’d be cool); and (4) Serve as a spy or a secret agent.
My expectations for this website are pretty minimal. Meeting other people with mutual interests would be cool. Admittedly, what I’m looking for is pretty specific, namely someone that: takes care of themselves, keeps things in perspective, and – most importantly - has interesting things to say.
Ok: that’s it.
First Date
We’d probably meet for coffee and plan our life together. Like when we’re going to get married, what kind of pet we should buy, and how many times a day we should call each other. You know, the basics.
Gag me.
I like doing the kinds of things people generally enjoy doing. Dinner. Coffee. Drinks. Walks. Arm-wrestling. I don’t find first dates intimidating, to be honest. If you like the person then it’s good. If you don’t then you gave it a shot. No harm, no foul.
New Ambition has 2 roses that can be sent.
