Okay, let's see if I can save you some time. After looking at several profiles posted by women, I've narrowed it down to a couple of things you all seem to be looking for in a man. So I'll just hit the big ones first!

1. Nice
You all seem to be looking for a "nice" guy. Whatever that is. Well let me see...I'm nice. Almost always...except when I'm not.

2. Sense of humor
Everyone wants someone to make them laugh. Ok, I'm a very funny guy. Moving on!

3. Intelligence
It's nice if a guy can spell and use proper grammar. I read that one a lot. Well without going in to the intricacies of generative grammar and the arbitrariness of spelling I can safely say that I'm pretty bright. Next point.

4. Someone that can sweep a girl off her feet.
OK, I'm scratching my head on this one. If I could do that, I suppose I wouldn't still be trying to meet someone. Besides, you'd think that if I had at least two out of three above qualities, you'd be swept already!

5. Must be "laid back" and "willing to have fun"
You mean there isn't much demand for an uptight jerk that only wants to sit around and be miserable? Who would have thought!

There, if you get this far, you must be thinking I'm pretty awesome...which I am! So here's a little bit more about me.

I love to learn new things and share them with others. Most people describe me as smart and funny with a big heart. I'm more interested in the company I'm with than what it is we might be doing. I love to read and I'm trying to make myself write more as well. Cooking and pretty much anything involving great food, beer and wine are passions of mine. I believe that cooking for someone is such an intimate and personal act and it is definitely a way in which I show my love to my friends and family.

For a first date I like to do something cheap, or even better, free! Not because I'm a cheapskate but because I think it takes the pressure off of both people. It let's you focus on each other and talk. That's why you're meeting in the first place, right? So grabbing a cup of coffee at a good coffee shop or maybe a beer at a nice quiet pub is really an ideal first date for me. If the weather's nice, maybe a walk afterwards or I suppose even a trip to the closest ice cream joint. Simplicity is the key!
