My current passion is travel, especially to places with deep historical roots. I've been to 20 countries, some pretty normal ones like Greece and Italy, and some more unusual such as Syria and Macedonia. There's just something indescribable about standing in a place where someone else stood thousands of years before. And probably as a natural offshoot of my traveling, I enjoy photography. I recently got my first digital SLR camera and am having fun learning how to use it. I love living close to DC and all it has to offer: museums, restaurants, history! Even after 11 years here I still get a jolt of excitement when I get off the metro and see the Capitol dome and that great big obelisk in the middle of the Mall. Some other things that I really enjoy are hiking and visiting wineries.

I think for me the idea first date is something casual and relaxing like meeting for coffee or going to a museum downtown.
