I wondered how they breathed, the fish I mean. I can see them just below the surface, darting here and there, so effortlessly. Once, while wading up to my waist, I noticed some fish swimming in my direction. Looked to me as if they were in a rush. Swimming towards me they broke to my right, all but one. The lone one sprung out of the wave as if he was launched by some invisible means. in an instant I juked to my left as the fish sailed past my head. had I stood still I could have caught him in my teeth. Or at least got smacked in the head. this freaked me out, this crazy fling fish. I wondered if a bigger fish was in pursuit.
